Burrito? Quesadilla? Crazy gooey thing from outer space?!

Okay...have to warn you - some of the pictures to follow are of the gooey-est Burrito/Quesadilla/Cheesy thing you'll ever see. I post it at the risk of making this awesome thing seem so un-appetizing...but it's some of the greatest stuff on this earth! I've never had anything like it! It's like this crazy melty cheesy concoction in a tortilla blanket. The pictures don't do it justice, but if you get a chance, give these Cheese Quesadillas with Red Sauce a try from this place in Downey, CA called El Taco. Man, these Quesadillas are pure heavenly cheesy goodness. But BEWARE, when I say it's "melty", I mean MELTY! Be careful of the temperature when you first bite into it. Be especially careful when you take every bite after that, lest you squeeze the cheesy goodness all over your lap while trying to take a bite out of it. (Don't blame me if you don't follow these precautions!) Just be very careful...and by NO means do you ever eat this driving. That would be a very VERY hazardous thing (seriously not kidding).

Burrito? Nope! It's a Quesadilla...wrapped up like a burrito, haha.

Be sure to wrap the bottom good and prepare to take a bite!

First signs of cheesy yum-e gooey-ness...

Then it gets crazy! Look how gooey it is!

How was your Valentine's Day?

Ours was pretty darn interesting. Let's see, we:

- Ate yummy yummy Garlic Noodles at Crustacean in Beverly Hills
- Saw Ray Romano from "Everybody Loves Raymond"
- Saw the drummer from the band Blink 182 and his date get accosted by Paparazzi
- Saw a really nice Ferrari
- Saw the valet back an SUV into the really nice Ferrari

Here's a little more info from my husband regarding the Ferrari...
"I did a search on the Ferrari 360 Modena, and one price I saw was for $157,000 for it. Ouch." His original guess was $120,000. Yikes!

All in all, it was a pretty fun & exciting night eating al fresco at the Crustacean in Beverly Hills (The poor Ferrari fiasco was a little more excitement than we had wanted though). And Oooohhhh, the Garlic Noodles...yes, they are still as good as I imagined them in my head after all this time. (Have not been back there in about a couple years) These noodles have successfully kept their place on my top 10 things to eat, EVER. :) Here are some pics:

Colossal Royal Tiger prawns, char-broiled with secret spices, An’s garlic noodles

Whole roasted Dungeness crab, An’s garlic sauce, secret spices

Though the crab was cracked, he still had to rolls up his sleeves and do some dirty work...but it was well worth it!

Dessert off of the Prix Fixe Valentine's Day Menu

Complimentary Roses! (not included, our waiter was just nice and gave them to us)

Hope you all had a Happy Valentine's Day! I'm sure everyone did, except the poor guy who owned that Ferrari. :(

Finally! Pictures!

I have to apologize for my laziness in finding out how to post multiple pictures from my flickr! account to my blogger account. It has delayed my posts about my eating adventures on my honeymoon late last year. Because I had actually written drafts back in Oct/Nov for those posts...the dates remain the same and so here's a post to direct you to the old posts.

..."whah?"...

Oh nevermind! Just click on the links below for some pretty pictures. there!

Morimoto doesn't dissappoint

(there's probably a way to change the dates on my posts too...but whatever!)

Happy Valentine's Day!

I was a little disappointed that Zov's Bistro didn't have their Chocolate Strawberry Tart cooking class this year. Not that I'd take it again, but it's nice to recommend it to people every year. They changed the class this year substituting their "Aphrodisiac" titled class for "Zov's Sweethearts Cooking Class". I'm sure it's good - but just watching that tart being made is awesome.

Oh well, enough complaining. Did you know that in Japan, the WOMEN give men in their lives chocolate on February 14th? Since some men think that Valentine's Day in the U.S. is a chocolate, flowers and card company conspiracy...I decided to give my hubby chocolate this year instead. I hope he likes it - left it on his car seat this morning. Hmm, I haven't heard from him yet...I wonder if he sat on it...

Hope you all have a great Valentine's Day and eat something really really good!

We're headed to Crustacean this year, yummy Garlic Noodles!

Mmmm, tortillas...

I LOVE these tortillas! But you'll only find these at El Torito GRILL. Talk about yum-e...and they're unlimited! That's right, all the freshly made tortillas you can eat throughout your meal. And their entrees aren't bad either. El Torito Grill, if there's one near you - you should give it a try. :)

New Italian Yogurt place in J-Town

This place (Fiore) was so bright I just had to stop and take pictures. Thank goodness a girlfriend of mine suggested we stop by after dinner to try it! Mmmm...we had blackberry. Even though the plastic chairs may not be the most comfortable things in the world, the ambiance was fun.

Enjoy!
